1st Impression Ironworks Agrees – It’s not OK for Any Child to Waste Away from Hunger

With Thanksgiving upon us, we here at 1st Impression Ironworks count the blessings in our lives, big and small! So, as we sit down at the table with friends and family to express how grateful we are for the good things in our lives, we know it’s also essential to pass on these blessings to others less fortunate!

As a company, one of the organizations we support year round is Feed My Starving Children.

What is Feed My Starving Children you ask? Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization that provides nutritious meals to orphanages, schools, and clinics in nearly 70 countries. All meals are funded by donors, and packed by volunteers through a nationwide MobilePack program. Charity Navigator has given Feed My Starving Children their highest four-star rating for 14 consecutive years which puts Feed My Starving Children in the top 1% of their charities nationwide.

Feed My Starving Children has grown from 3 million meals in 2003 to 365 million meals in 2018 with 1.3 million volunteers. Feed My Starving Children has also shipped 2.3 billion meals to the most difficult places in the world. 99.8% have successfully reached the hungry children for whom they were meant. Check out the blog post called It’s not OK for Any Child to Waste Away from Hunger!

“The employees at 1st Impression Ironworks – and their families – have joined together to pack meals for Feed My Starving Children. Our goal of providing first class care applies to our Homeowner customers and to our community at large.  So we volunteered, as a group, not only as a team building experience, but also because we believe caring is when you think about the needs of others and then you take action to address those needs. Working together to benefit Feed My Starving Children in such a hands-on way was a very fulfilling experience.”

Jennifer Pittman, Director of Sales

Here in Arizona, we contributed to the Feed My Starving Children in Mesa. Our 1st Impression Ironwork team of 14 employees and their kiddos volunteered their time to fill food packages with Feed My Starving Children’s patented formula of grains, vegetables, and protein and pack them up into boxes to ship out. In two hours our group of volunteers, as well as others participating, packed 227 boxes of food to be shipped to a school in Thailand. How many mouths does that feed? 227 boxes equates to 49,032 meals! Two hours of our time from 1st Impression Ironworks’ staff helped feed 134 children in Thailand for a whole year!
