Well, we do here at 1st Impression Ironworks.

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s easy to forget that there is a growing number of people in our own community that don’t have enough to eat. According to a study published in 2020 by the US Department of Agriculture, an estimated 1 in 5 Americans are food insecure. This equates to upwards of 50 million Americans – including 17 million children – that go hungry each day. That is why our 1st Impression Ironworks team takes community outreach so seriously. We choose local charity organizations and food banks to contribute our time and effort to every year!

This past month, we chose to support Midwest Food Bank in their efforts to combat food insecurity in our local Phoenix area. We had a diverse turnout of 1st Impression Engineers, Fabricators, Field Operators, Customer Care representatives, and even our CEO, who all enthusiastically volunteered their time to prep around 6,400 bags of food for hungry families!

Midwest Food Bank collects, warehouses, and distributes food and essential supplies to front-line organizations like food pantries and soup kitchens. Charity Navigator has given Midwest Food Bank their highest four-star overall score and rating. Midwest Food Bank of Arizona serves over 300 agency partners from their warehouse in Gilbert and a satellite distribution in Tucson. They serve agency partners in multiple counties across Arizona and into parts of Southern California. The goods they deliver to agency partners help to supplement the food supply for families and individuals across our country, aiding those whose resources are beyond stretched.
