Iron Entry Door Or Iron Security Door…Is There A Difference?

You’re not alone if you don’t quite know whether you’re looking for an Iron Entry Door or an Iron Security Door for your home. What’s the difference anyway? We get this question all the time, so let’s help clear up the matter to make it easy for you to choose which one is right for you.

First things first: An Iron Entry Door replaces your current or original opening that provides an entry point, often the front door, to your home. It typically opens INTO your home, and welcomes your guests to pass into your home when walking through it. An Iron Entry Door is designed to be your main entry door, it’s insulated and sealed to keep the weather out of your house, and it provides the last secure entryway between the outside world and the private interior of your home.

Alternatively, an Iron Security Door (sometimes known as storm door or a screen door) is mounted to your home outside of your entry door, and it typically opens out, meaning towards the person outside of your home and away from the interior of your home. They are built to allow air flow and light into your home, either with or without a screen divider to compliment the iron frame and structural design. Iron Security Doors are meant to add security and beauty while keeping intruders out!
